    I. Background of the Project

    Traffic flow collection sub-system of intelligent transportation management system construction project of Zhengzhou City is a major part of urban ITS of Zhengzhou City. On the one hand, the information collection depth and width can be expanded through adding various road data detection equipment, one the other hand, accuracy of the road traffic data can be greatly improved by integrating data of the old and new collection equipment so as to provide decision data for more effective traffic management, command & dispatch and transportation planning.

    II. Description of the Project

    Guided by the actual demand of urban traffic in Zhengzhou City and focusing on data collection, processing and releasing of various road data detection equipment, we placed emphasis on real-time collection of geomagnetism, microwave and video, accuracy of monitoring and identification, integration of dynamic road conditions and GIS data, traffic prediction, dynamic information releasing & application and other core technologies and enhance effective integration and comprehensive utilization of real-time dynamic information resources to meet the public demand for travelling information services. At the same time, through integration & processing and analysis & judgment of the data, we strive to facilitate sustainable development of transportation and improve application level of urban ITS technology to provide new services for transportation management and public travelling.

    III. Objectives of the Project

    Establish dynamic traffic flow collection sub-system to receive data from various road data detection equipment in real time. Integrate with the existing flow collection system in Zhengzhou to provide uniform and standard real-time traffic parameter data for the center data processing platform for in-depth mining (data analysis and pre-processing, fusion, short-term prediction, judgment of congestion status and generation of guidance information).

    IV. Core Functional Modules

    • Through short-term prediction of traffic, grasp the traffic status in the next moment and take measures in advance to reduce time of congestion;
    • Through historical road condition data inquiry interface, extract the traffic status of road network during specified periods to understand the changing trend of traffic status;
    • Through the intersection traffic condition releasing interface, get the traffic status data at intersections, and based on intersection traffic incident detection algorithm, judge congestion status at intersections prone to congestion and send alarms in real time;
    • Through the intersection real-time traffic condition releasing interface, collect the relevant information at a intersection in a certain interval to monitor the congestion status at the intersection;
    • Extract traffic congestion data in the road network in the past 24 hours and analyze the status during peak periods;
    • Support speed analysis, congestion analysis, analysis of traffic volume passing the specified road sections, analysis of traffic density in a road section, saturation analysis, traffic congestion index analysis, regional congestion index analysis, graded road congestion analysis, recurrent road section congestion analysis, geomagnetic management and traffic analysis;
    • System operation and maintenance management;
    • Traffic information collection service and upgrade;
    • Map application layer production upgrade;
    • Map service platform upgrade;
